The TON Foundation has launched a Bitcoin bridge that allows users to transfer BTC into the TON ecosystem. This move enables the use of Bitcoin in TON's decentralized applications and lending platforms. According to Jack Booth, TON Foundation's marketing director, the security measures employed by this bridge include trustless architecture, making it secure and transparent.

The bridge is part of TON's long-term vision to become a 'blockchain of blockchains', integrating top Web3 services into one network. Blockchain bridges are not new, but they have had a sketchy history, with notable incidents such as the 2022 Ronin Bridge hack resulting in over $600 million in losses.

To address these security concerns, TON's bridge uses a Simplified Payment Verification Client as a smart contract to verify Bitcoin block states directly on TON. All key operations are handled by smart contracts, including transaction verification, confirmation, and token issuance, which are recorded on the TON Blockchain immediately after confirmation.
