Toncoin Validators Reach Record 400 Across Six Continents

Pavel Durov, founder of Telegram, has touted Toncoin (TON) as one of the most decentralized blockchains in operation due to its wide geographic distribution. According to him, TON now runs on over 400 validators spread across six continents.

This network's decentralization is further emphasized by Durov, who points out that Telegram's recent takeover as the largest validator has not concentrated power in one company. Instead, he argues that the presence of validators on multiple continents lowers correlated risk from regional regulation, outages, or political shocks.

Durov's statement comes after Telegram replaced the TON Foundation as the main operational driver of The Open Network. This move was the third step in his 'Make TON Great Again' roadmap and saw Telegram stake around 2.2 million TON to claim the top validator slot on May 4.
