Towngas Partners with PolyU on Blockchain-Based Green Fuels Management Platform
The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) has partnered with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) to develop a blockchain-based management platform for green fuels and chemicals operations. This collaboration aims to provide technical support for green value certification, full lifecycle traceability, and market applications.
According to the agreement, the blockchain platform will be deployed within VENEX, a subsidiary of Towngas Group, and put into service at its production facilities in Inner Mongolia and Foshan. The system will cover feedstock procurement, production operations, product certification, logistics, and end-use applications, achieving full-process data recording.
Features of the platform include digital identities and electronic certification mechanisms for green fuels and chemical products, full-process traceability management across the supply chain, prevention of alteration or forgery of certificates and related documents, and international market recognition of green product certification results.
