Toyota Finance Launches Direct Blockchain Bond Offering
Toyota Finance has launched its second blockchain-based bond offering, this time with direct distribution through Toyota Wallet. The ¥1 billion one-year security token bond carries a 1.72% annual yield and requires a minimum application of ¥100,000. Unlike the company's first bond, which was sold through securities companies, this issuance allows Toyota Finance to manage applications, bondholder communications, and related services within its own digital system.
The use of blockchain infrastructure provided by BOOSTRY enables direct distribution and simplifies the process for applicants. Once a user installs the Toyota Wallet payment and mobility application, they can access the offering without opening a traditional securities account. The bond's benefits are tied to Toyota's wider mobility services, including exclusive experiences such as race-viewing tickets at Fuji Speedway and select vehicle test drives.
This move follows Toyota Finance's first security token bond launched in March 2025, which saw strong participation encourage the company to redesign its issuance structure. The direct distribution model aims to integrate applications with ongoing communication and benefit delivery more closely, removing several steps typically associated with purchasing securities through brokerage platforms.
