TradeXYZ Repays SK Hynix Victims Amid Dominance Risk Concerns
TradeXYZ has begun reimbursing users who lost funds in the $60M liquidation event tied to SK Hynix (SKHYNIX) perpetual contracts on July 27, 2026. The flash crash was triggered by an oracle pricing mishap and partly due to ongoing volatility in the South Korean market.
The actual losses were estimated at $17.4M in realized losses affecting over 900 user accounts. As part of the payout program, TradeXYZ said it had paid out victims with claims of less than $10K based on $1,115 per SKHYNIX. However, wallets claiming larger amounts will require more review for final payout by August 15.
TradeXYZ controls over 99% of Hyperliquid's HIP-3 volumes and Open Interest (OI), which has led to concerns about the project's dominance risk. Analysts argue that the current design favors big HIP-3 deployers like TradeXYZ, forcing smaller players out of the market.
