Travala's AVA Smart Program Hits 170,000 Members, Aims for 30% Lock
Travala's crypto loyalty program, the AVA Smart Program, has reached a milestone of 170,000 members, a 110% year-over-year increase as of August. This program rewards users for locking their AVA tokens, with the goal of 30% of the circulating supply being locked in the long term.
The program's success has led to the introduction of new lock levels, with existing members grandfathered in at their current requirements. New members, however, will need to lock double the current AVA amount for each tier. This update is part of a wider overhaul of AVA's tokenomics, with the goal of increasing locked AVA to around 27% of the circulating supply.
Travala's Chief Marketing Officer, Sam Woollard, is not quoted in the source, but the AVA Foundation's Lead Contributor, Steve Hipwell, notes that having 16% of AVA's circulating supply locked within a travel loyalty program demonstrates genuine real-world utility. The update follows last week's launch of the AVA Permanent Strategic Reserve, under which Travala matches the AVA Foundation's monthly open-market buybacks, doubling buyback volume.
