The U.S. Treasury Department made its first purchase under an expanded program on September 10, buying $5.187 billion of long-dated government bonds to improve liquidity in off-the-run securities.

The buyback targeted older Treasury issues that tend to trade less actively than benchmark bonds, with the department accepting 23 out of 40 eligible issues maturing from February 2037 through August 2046.

In related news, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs posted another net outflow of roughly $282 million on September 10, while the price of Bitcoin remained near a closely watched support area at around $76,568.
