Treasury Companies Bolster Crypto Holdings Amid Market Volatility
Recent market activity has seen significant purchases of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana by treasury companies, despite the sideways movement of these assets in recent days.
Strategy, the world's largest publicly traded Bitcoin holder, has made an additional 334 Bitcoin purchase, bringing its total holdings to 848,000 $BTC. This move was part of a larger strategy to increase its Bitcoin holdings, with the company also repurchasing STRC preferred shares worth $176 million.
Strategy's founder, Michael Saylor, noted that the company's dollar-denominated assets could cover current preferred stock dividends and interest payments for approximately 3.6 years, adding a note of stability to its financial portfolio.
Meanwhile, Strive also made a notable purchase of 2,000 Bitcoin, worth $169 million, bringing its total Bitcoin holdings to 29,462 $BTC. The company's CEO, Matt Cole, announced that 61.5% of the acquisition funds came from SATA, while $56.7 million was raised through stock options.
Bitmine, the world's largest holder of Ethereum, continued its purchasing spree, acquiring an additional 15,112 $ETH, bringing its total holdings to 6,016,414 $ETH. This represents 4.9% of the total circulating $ETH supply.
Bitmine's total assets, including cryptocurrency, cash, marketable securities, and strategic investment assets, have reached $17.4 billion, with the company citing the belief that cryptocurrencies have entered a bull market cycle.
Lastly, DeFi Development Corp., a Nasdaq-listed company, announced the purchase of an additional 26,203 Solana, bringing its total $SOL holdings to 2.564 million. The company also generated additional $SOL and commission revenue by using its $SOL holdings for staking and operating its own validator.
