Trezor Data Breach Exposes Thousands of Customer Records

Crypto hardware wallet maker Trezor has announced a data breach that exposed customer personal information. The company stated that one of its shipping providers, ShipMonk, suffered a data breach, allowing unauthorized access to systems containing customer data.

Trezor disclosed that the data breach affects nearly 14,000 customers, with full exposure for 11,742 customers and partial exposure for 1,947 customers. The affected customers received their orders in specific countries within the past 90 days.

The company assured that its devices remain secure but warned that affected customers may see an increase in phishing attempts as scammers try to use the leaked information to access customers' wallets.

Trezor is working on implementing an Anonymous Delivery option, which would enable users to order hardware wallets without linking their purchase to their home address or real-world identity. This feature aims to prevent similar shipping data breaches in the future and will be available by September for EU customers and by year-end for US customers.
