Trezor Devices Now Support Secure Clear Signing Through ERC-7730 Standard
The Ethereum Foundation has rolled out its Trillion Dollar Security Initiative to provide a secure way for users to verify cryptocurrency transactions. The initiative, which aims to protect users from costly thefts, has now been implemented on Trezor devices through the ERC-7730 clear signing standard.
This standard allows wallets to decode smart contract transactions and display them in plain language on the device screen, rather than as a raw hash. This means that users can confirm that the transaction they are approving is accurate and trustworthy.
The Ethereum Foundation's Trillion Dollar Security Initiative was first launched in May and aims to protect users from costly thefts. The initiative has been linked to several high-profile hacks, including the $1.5 billion Bybit breach, which remains the largest crypto hack on record.
Trezor has confirmed that its devices will now support clear signing through the ERC-7730 standard, allowing users to verify transactions and ensure their safety. The feature works automatically and does not require any additional installation or setup.
