Trezor Shipping Partner Exposes Customer Data in Massive Breach
Trezor, a hardware wallet manufacturer, has been affected by a data breach involving its shipping partner Shipmonk. The incident exposed customer information for 13,689 users across several countries.
The compromised data includes full names, email addresses, phone numbers, and shipping addresses for 11,742 customers. Partial information was leaked for an additional 1,947 users, consisting of names, cities, and email addresses.
Trezor emphasized that its own systems, products, and services remain secure. However, the company warned that affected customers may experience a rise in phishing attempts as scammers seek to exploit the exposed information.
The risk is particularly pressing for hardware wallet owners, as thieves may attempt to obtain a wallet backup or recovery phrase, which can grant access to cryptocurrency funds.
