Trillion-Dollar Tech Stocks and AI Standards Top the Agenda
Several US tech stocks have reached trillion-dollar market capitalizations, joining an elite group. Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] recently surpassed $1tn, following in the footsteps of Nvidia [NVDA], Broadcom [AVGO], and Micron [MU]. The wider club also includes Amazon [AMZN], Alphabet [GOOGL], and Microsoft [MSFT].
Meanwhile, OpenAI has urged international cooperation to set standards for artificial intelligence systems. The startup proposed a coalition led by the Trump administration to assess AI capabilities and risks.
Crypto-adjacent stocks have also rebounded after a setback in crypto regulation. Bitcoin [BTC] broke above $84,000, and Coinbase [COIN], Robinhood [HOOD], and Strategy [MSTR] have shown gains. Crypto tokens like Hyperliquid [HYPE] have climbed to record prices.
The Paramount Skydance [PSKY] merger with Warner Bros Discovery [WBD] has cleared a major hurdle after settling a lawsuit with US states. The company must meet certain production targets and pay $17.5m into the Writers Guild of America health fund.
