Trillions in Institutional Money to Flow into Bitcoin, Predicts Bitwise

Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan predicts that Bitcoin will see significant institutional investment over the next decade, potentially reaching a price target of $1.3 million. According to Hougan, financial advisers and family offices are already starting to view Bitcoin as a mainstream financial asset, with some large wealth firms making it more accessible to clients.

The shift is being driven by 13F filings for spot Bitcoin ETFs and moves by companies like Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo. Hougan expects this trend to continue, with even larger pools of capital, including foundations, endowments, pension plans, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, and central banks, eventually investing in Bitcoin.

These institutions control between $100 trillion and $200 trillion in assets globally, and a 1% allocation to Bitcoin could support Hougan's price target. However, he notes that this process will take over 10 years to unfold.
