TRON DAO Highlights Blockchain Transparency and Illicit Activity Disruption
The TRON DAO community participated in CoinDesk Policy & Regulation 2026 as a Gold Sponsor, where they joined senior legal, compliance, and policy leaders to examine how coordination among networks, exchanges, regulators, and law enforcement can strengthen efforts to identify and disrupt illicit activity.
TRON DAO's General Counsel, John Hurston, moderated the panel 'The Future of Monitoring Illicit Finance on Public Blockchains' alongside Sarah Ward from Chainalysis, Molly Woodman from the Digital Sovereignty Alliance, and David Feder from Fenwick.
Hurston emphasized that public blockchains provide transparency that can support effective financial crime monitoring, and that stronger coordination among industry, regulators, and law enforcement is needed to identify and disrupt illicit activity.
The TRON DAO T3 Financial Crime Unit (T3 FCU), launched with Tether in September 2024, has helped freeze over $450 million in suspected illicit assets through its comprehensive monitoring capability.
