Tron Surges to $150 Billion Weekly Stablecoin Volume
Tron has become a major player in digital finance as a settlement network for a significant share of Tether's USDT transfers. The blockchain is processing around $150 billion to $190 billion in weekly stablecoin volume, underscoring its growing importance in cost-sensitive payment corridors.
The network now processes nearly 100 million transactions per week, with average fees dropping to around seven cents due to its delegated proof-of-stake model. This combination has helped Tron position itself as a practical channel for digital payments rather than a general-purpose layer-1 platform competing across every blockchain use case.
The U.S. regulatory backdrop is also becoming more important to Tron's outlook as stablecoins draw greater attention from regulators. Over the past year, measures such as the GENIUS Act have introduced a clearer framework for payment stablecoins, which could support additional settlement demand if regulated stablecoin usage expands.
