TRON's TRX Price Hinges on Network Demand and ETF Activity
TRON's native token, TRX, opened October trading near $0.335 after spending most of September fluctuating between $0.325 and $0.345. Despite the stable price action, TRON's network holds a substantial $95.8 billion in stablecoins, according to DeFiLlama, while TRX's market capitalization stands at approximately $31.8 billion. This discrepancy highlights the difference between stablecoin activity on the network and the actual demand for TRX.
One potential driver for TRX demand is the Canary Staked TRX ETF (TRXS), which launched in September. However, the fund's share count has remained virtually unchanged since its debut, suggesting limited new investment. As of October 2, the fund had 2.03 million shares outstanding, unchanged since September 15, with net assets hovering around $50.23 million. This stagnation indicates that the ETF has not yet significantly boosted TRX's price.
The TRON network's role in USDT transfers and stablecoin holdings does not directly translate to TRX demand. While USDT transfer value on TRON reached $2.1 trillion in Q2, the stablecoin balance on the network does not equate to TRX purchases. Similarly, the network's resource system allows users to pay fees in USDT, further complicating the relationship between stablecoin activity and TRX price movements.
For October, TRX's price outlook hinges on whether network activity and ETF inflows generate measurable demand. A move to $0.38-$0.40 would require a 13-19% increase from the current price, while a decline to $0.29-$0.31 would represent a 7-13% drop. The key factor will be whether TRON's stablecoin dominance and the ETF's staked exposure translate into sustained TRX buying pressure.
