US President Donald Trump announced on June 12 that Mideast allies have established parameters for a deal to end the Iran war, delaying new military strikes while negotiations move forward.

The framework was facilitated by Pakistan, which has positioned itself as the primary mediator in the conflict. The Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding is scheduled for signing on June 17 and would establish a 60-day window for negotiating final peace terms.

Trump suggested that the ceasefire agreement was close to finalization, with expectations that a signing event could take place in Europe shortly after the memorandum. However, Iran has pushed back on characterizations that a binding agreement exists.

The Islamabad Memorandum would reportedly pause Bitcoin collections for transit tolls in the Strait of Hormuz for 60 days during the negotiation window. This development comes as markets remain cautious due to the uncertainty surrounding the conflict and its impact on oil prices.
