Trump-Branded Maldives Resort Delays Token Launch Amid Regional Conflict
A luxury resort in the Maldives, branded by Donald Trump, was set to offer a token backed by its revenue, but the launch has been postponed due to regional travel disruptions caused by the conflict with Iran.
The project, developed by British company DAR Global Plc, aims to have 80 luxury beach and overwater villas. The tokenization of real-world assets is a new corner of crypto, where companies convert assets like bonds or hotel revenue into digital tokens that can be traded instantly.
DAR Global CEO Ziad El Chaar stated that the company continues to advance its partnership with the Trump Organization and evaluates development schedules to ensure alignment with market conditions and regulatory requirements.
