Trump Buys Big into Crypto-Linked Strategy
President Donald Trump revealed in an ethics filing that he purchased between $50,001 and $100,000 worth of Strategy shares on July 27. This is not his first purchase of Strategy stock, as he also bought between $1,001 and $15,000 worth three days earlier.
Strategy is the world's largest publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holder, with 846,000 BTC. Trump's accounts have reported several smaller purchases and sales of Strategy shares this year.
The filing shows that Trump's Strategy purchase was a small part of his broader portfolio activity in July, which included sales of $5 million to $25 million each of Microsoft and Amazon stocks on July 20.
Strategy shares have rallied nearly 30% over the past five trading days and about 37% over the past month, according to Yahoo Finance data.
