Trump Buys into Crypto with $50K to $100K Strategy Share Purchase
US President Donald Trump has made a significant investment in cryptocurrency through his stock portfolio. According to a US Office of Government Ethics filing, Trump purchased $50,001 to $100,000 worth of Strategy shares on July 27.
Strategy is the world's largest publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holder, with 846,000 BTC, according to data from BitcoinTreasuries.net. This purchase was the largest of several crypto-linked transactions identified in the filing.
The transaction matched Trump's largest previously disclosed Strategy purchase, which also fell within a similar value range of $50,001 to $100,000 on February 12.
Trump's accounts have reported several smaller purchases and sales of Strategy shares this year. The filings do not show how many Strategy shares remain in his portfolio, as transactions are reported in value ranges rather than as a running share balance.
