Trump Family Cryptocurrency Deals Spark Controversy Amid Election Season
A majority of Americans believe President Donald Trump and his family have inappropriately profited from their cryptocurrency ventures since his return to power, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll. The poll found that half of Trump's own Republicans agree the president allows considerations for his business interests to influence his decisions.
The survey discovered that 63% of respondents think it is inappropriate for Trump and his family to have profited in this way, while 32% said it was appropriate. This includes about three in ten Republican respondents who called the deals inappropriate, while seven in ten said they were fine.
The White House dismissed any allegations of impropriety, stating that Trump's investments are managed by independent financial institutions and that there are no conflicts of interest. However, experts on presidential ethics disagree, saying this confluence of business and politics is unprecedented.
