Trump Family's Crypto Bank Ties Deepen with Abu Dhabi Royal

Share

The Trump family's crypto business has deepened its ties to Abu Dhabi royal Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who invested $500 million in World Liberty Financial. According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, Tahnoon and his co-investors now own 49% of the holding company for World Liberty's proposed U.S. crypto bank.

The bank received preliminary regulatory approval, and its ties to the Trump family raise questions about the financial relationship between the sitting president's family and one of the Middle East's most powerful government officials.

Tahnoon's investment in World Liberty was made in January 2025, just four days before Trump's inauguration. The original deal directed $263 million to Trump family entities.
