President Donald Trump is set to host cryptocurrency executives at the White House on Wednesday, as US financial regulators push forward with their framework for certain digital assets.

The event comes in the same week that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) proposed long-awaited rules that would exempt certain token offerings from securities regulations, easing the path for companies to issue tokens and raise capital.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is scheduled to take up crypto regulation at an industry gathering on Thursday. Despite broader crypto legislation remaining stalled in Congress since Trump returned to office in January 2025, agencies are carrying the policy load.
