Trump Hosts Crypto Executives at White House Amid Ongoing Regulatory Efforts
President Donald Trump is set to meet with cryptocurrency executives at the White House today. This comes as U.S. financial regulators continue to work on their framework for digital assets. The SEC proposed rules this week that would exempt certain token offerings from securities regulations, making it easier for crypto companies to issue tokens and raise money.
Trump has been supportive of crypto-friendly policies since his return to office in January 2025. He has also earned over $1.4 billion from his family's crypto ventures. However, sweeping crypto legislation has stalled in Congress.
The White House event will feature CFTC Chair Mike Selig and SEC Chair Paul Atkins, among others. Crypto companies such as Ripple and Andreessen Horowitz are also expected to be represented. This meeting is seen as a key development in the ongoing effort to regulate digital assets.
