Trump Hosts Third Exclusive Memecoin Event Amid Corruption Claims
US President Donald Trump will host another exclusive event for top holders of his memecoin, Official Trump (TRUMP), on November 22 at his Trump National Golf Club in Washington, DC. This is the third such gathering, following events in May and April, which saw attendance by the top 220 and then 297 tokenholders respectively.
The event will be invitation-only for the top 185 TRUMP holders, scored between September 30 and November 12. Trump's appearance at the dinner alongside three unnamed guests has been announced on the GetTrumpMemes website, which promotes his memecoin.
A report by Public Citizen in August estimated that investors in Trump's crypto ventures were $4.7 billion underwater since 2022, with $3.2 billion of those losses attributed to the Official Trump memecoin. Critics have accused Trump of selling access to the presidency through 'pay-to-play' schemes.
Market data shows TRUMP's price surged about 9% after the dinner announcement on Wednesday, reaching $2.23 from $2.05. At the time of publication, the token was trading at $2.06. Trump launched the memecoin shortly before his January 2025 inauguration.
