Trump Hosts Third Memecoin Event Amid Corruption Allegations
US President Donald Trump is set to host his third 'exclusive' memecoin event on November 22, according to the organizers of the Official Trump (TRUMP) token. The dinner will be held at Trump's Washington, DC golf club and will include himself along with three unnamed guests. Eligibility for attendance will be determined by a scoring system that calculates holder metrics recorded between September 30 and November 12.
The event is the third of its kind, following similar gatherings in May 2025 and April 2026, which were also held at Trump's properties. The memecoin has been surrounded by controversy since its launch shortly before Trump's inauguration in January 2025, with Public Citizen estimating that investors in the token are ' $4.7 billion underwater' since 2022.
The announcement of the upcoming event has sparked renewed scrutiny and criticism, with some accusing Trump of turning access to the presidency into a pay-to-play arrangement. Senator Chris Coons called the events 'corruption' in a recent Bluesky post, while Public Citizen co-president Robert Weissman described the dinner as 'unethical and unconscionable profiteering off the presidency.'
