Trump-Linked American Bitcoin Sinks 92% as Net Losses Soar
American Bitcoin, a firm majority-owned by Hut 8 and led by Eric Trump as chief strategy officer and Donald Trump Jr. as senior adviser, has seen its value plummet by over 92% since its merger.
The company claims to be 'a pure-play BTC accumulation platform that integrates scaled BTC mining operations with disciplined accumulation strategies', but its performance has been far worse than the broader market, which has only lost a quarter of its value.
Despite efforts by Trump-related American Bitcoin to accumulate more BTC, the firm has reported net losses of over $150 million in 2025 and an additional $138 million in the first six months of 2026, mainly due to falling BTC prices.
