Trump Media Suffers $238M Loss Amid Cryptocurrency Price Drops
Trump Media and Technology Group reported a net loss of $238 million in Q2 2026, largely due to $190.4 million in unrealized losses on its cryptocurrency holdings. The company's Bitcoin (BTC) holdings decreased slightly to 9,477 BTC valued at $557 million by June 30.
The value drops were also seen in Cronos tokens, with Trump Media facing significant losses in the first half of 2026 due to falling crypto prices. In July, the company expanded its Bitcoin position to over 14,000 BTC worth about $890 million.
A planned merger with Crypto.com and Yorkville Acquisition was mutually terminated due to changing market conditions. The company is planning to restructure its crypto strategy and increase investment in its Truth Social platform and media operations.
