$TRUMP Meme Coin: Trump Hosts Third Gala Event Amid Profitability and Criticism
President Donald Trump will host another gala event in November to meet with top investors of his meme coin, dubbed $TRUMP. This marks the third such gathering since his return to office, sparking criticism that he's using his position to profit from the cryptocurrency venture.
The exclusive dinner is scheduled for November 22 at the Trump National Golf Club in Northern Virginia, where 185 top investors will mingle with the president and three yet-to-be-announced VIPs. The event comes after a financial disclosure showed Trump earned over $1.4 billion from crypto ventures in 2025, including $635 million generated by his 'Celebration Coins'. These tokens are a type of digital currency often based on internet memes.
Trump launched the meme coin in January 2025, just before his inauguration, and its value initially soared to over $44. However, it plummeted shortly after and currently hovers around $2, leaving investors who bought at the peak with an asset worth less than $700 for every $10,000 invested.
Critics have accused Trump of engaging in brazen pay-for-play schemes, but the White House has repeatedly denied any conflict of interest between his private business interests and public duties. The president's team claims that these events are merely opportunities to engage with supporters and promote economic growth.
