Trump Meme Coin Whales Stock Up Ahead of Mar-a-Lago Luncheon
The TRUMP meme coin has seen large holders accumulate tokens ahead of an April 25 luncheon at Mar-a-Lago, where top token holders are invited to attend. One whale withdrew 105,754 TRUMP from a crypto exchange on Saturday, adding to their existing position of 1.13 million tokens valued at around $3.2 million. Another whale had previously withdrawn 850,488 TRUMP two days prior.
Despite the accumulation, the token has been declining since President Trump's March announcement of the luncheon, which initially pushed the price to $4.35 but now trades around $2.80. Dominick John from Zeus Research attributes this decline to retail-driven selling overwhelming thin liquidity and insider supply overhang.
TRUMP Token News points out that supply is heavily concentrated, with 91% of the total held by the top 10 wallets and 97% among the top 100. The token tends to rise in anticipation of events like this but then falls afterwards, a pattern seen from Trump's separate crypto gala dinner in May 2025.
John suggests that a recovery is possible, with the 2026 midterms acting as a sentiment catalyst and event-driven launches such as the Trump Billionaire Game generating short-term upside momentum.
