Trump Oil Price Surge Tests Fed Ahead of Rate Decision

US oil prices spiked on Wednesday after President Donald Trump vowed to strike Iran. Brent crude jumped 6.6% to $91.94 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate rose 6.4% to $84.31. This comes as the Federal Reserve is set to make an interest rate decision.

The recent increase in oil prices has been driven by rising tensions between the US and Iran. On Tuesday, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps fired multiple ballistic missiles at a US airbase and Central Command site in Jordan. However, all of them were intercepted, and no US troops were hurt.

Trump responded to the situation with forceful language, saying 'We'll be hitting them hard. They're going to get a beating.' Despite this, he also stated that talks with Iran are still ongoing.

The oil price surge has significant implications for the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision. The Fed has previously cited energy costs as a contributor to high inflation rates. With oil prices rising, market bets on a rate hike have increased, potentially affecting Bitcoin's price.
