Trump Rejects Iran Ceasefire Plan, Bitcoin Price Slides
US President Donald Trump has rejected Iran's proposed seven-day ceasefire plan, which would have seen the US meet its existing commitments and led to a reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
The proposal, shared through Qatari mediators by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, also included resuming talks on Iran's nuclear program in exchange for the US lifting its naval blockade and easing sanctions on Iranian oil exports.
However, Trump reportedly told close aides that he expects US strikes on Iran to resume after the November 2026 midterm elections.
