Trump Set to Host Meme Coin Investors Again Amid Conflict of Interest Claims
President Donald Trump is set to meet with top investors in his meme coin, $TRUMP, for the third time since his return to office. The event, scheduled for November 22 at the Trump National Golf Club in Northern Virginia, has raised eyebrows among critics who claim it's another example of the president profiting from his position.
The notice on the $TRUMP coin website states that Trump and three yet-to-be-announced VIPs will attend an 'exclusive' dinner with 185 top investors. The top 29 investors will be invited to a VIP reception with the President, according to the website.
Critics have slammed these events as brazen pay-for-play schemes, pointing out that Trump generated $635 million from his so-called 'Celebration Coins' in 2025 - a significant portion of his overall crypto portfolio's $1.4 billion earnings. The $TRUMP coin was launched just days before Trump's inauguration in January 2025 and initially soared to over $44, but its value has plummeted to around $2.
The White House has repeatedly denied that Trump's private business interests create a conflict of interest, with no further comment on the upcoming event.
