Trump Supports Crypto as National Security Issue

US President Donald Trump has expressed his support for cryptocurrency, stating that it is 'a big deal' and that people are increasingly using Bitcoin without even thinking about cash. He made these comments during an interview with Punchbowl News.

Trump cited the need to prevent China or other countries from dominating the space as a reason for his support of crypto. He noted that Bitcoin adoption is happening organically at the consumer level and that it takes pressure off the US dollar.

The President framed his support as a national security issue, stating 'If we don't have it, China's going to have it.' He also claimed that Joe Biden only recently embraced cryptocurrency because he saw Trump winning the crypto community's support.
