Trump Urges Congress to Pass Clarity Act, Boosting Crypto Sector

Share

U.S. President Donald Trump called on Congress to pass a bill that would provide clearer definitions for the growing cryptocurrency sector, a top priority for industry executives who gathered at the White House with the president.

The 'fair version of the Clarity Act' aims to define which tokens qualify as securities versus commodities and which agencies have oversight of the sector. Trump urged lawmakers to pass this bill, citing its importance for the crypto industry.

Several top crypto executives spoke alongside Trump at the event, including Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev. The Republican president has pursued crypto-friendly policies since returning to office in January 2025, but sweeping crypto legislation has not yet passed Congress.
