Donald Trump's decision to rebrand Artificial Intelligence (AI) as 'Super Intelligence' across the US government has sparked controversy, particularly in Slovenia, which is tied to Melania Trump's birth country. The sudden boom in .si domain registrations raises questions about potential insider deals.

In September, Slovenia signed an AI partnership with Washington, and shortly after, new .si registrations skyrocketed from fewer than 2,000 in August to around 44,000 in September. Investor Adam Cochran claims that registrations began rising in June, while AI-related .si names started changing hands at high prices.

Cochran alleges that about 12,000 AI- or MAGA-related domains were registered or changed hands before Trump pushed the rebrand. Economist Roman Sheremeta called this episode an alleged 'enrichment ploy.'
