Trump's Crypto Conflict Kills Industry's Dream Bill

Share

The cryptocurrency industry's dream bill, the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, has been killed in Congress due to President Donald Trump's conflict of interest. Despite spending hundreds of millions of dollars on campaigns over the past two years, the industry failed to pass a bill that would have enshrined its place in the financial system.

The bill faced opposition from Democrats who pointed out Trump's personal profiteering through digital assets and the Republican administration's refusal to crack down on such behavior. Senator Elizabeth Warren stated that it was 'hard to see the sun around' Trump's corruption, while Senator Adam Schiff said the administration had made clear it would not reach a deal to address the president's profiteering.

Senator Mark Warner, another crypto sympathizer, noted that Congress cannot pass landmark legislation governing this industry while allowing the president of the United States to personally profit from it. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the matter.
