Trump's Crypto Profits Spark Controversy Among Americans

Share

A new poll has found that a majority of Americans believe it is inappropriate for President Donald Trump and his family to be profiting from cryptocurrency while he is in office.

The Reuters/Ipsos survey, conducted between August 14 and 17, found that 63% of respondents considered Trump's crypto earnings unacceptable, compared to just 32% who thought they were acceptable.

The poll also revealed that nearly seven out of ten Americans believe Trump's private business interests influence his decisions as president, a view shared by around two-thirds of independent voters and nine in ten Democrats.

The figures have prompted several Senate Democrats to call for investigations into potential conflicts of interest and national security risks. Lawmakers have also raised questions about third parties holding a majority stake in World Liberty Financial, a company launched with Trump's sons.
