Trump's Crypto Summit: Push for Clarity Act and National Reserve
US President Donald Trump hosted a high-stakes crypto summit at the White House to push for passage of the CLARITY Act. The act aims to maintain America's financial dominance, according to Trump. Key attendees included Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and other prominent figures from the crypto and traditional finance industries.
The meeting also highlighted the shift towards more innovative-friendly regulations under the current regime. Regulators pointed out that there have been 583 IPOs since Trump's inauguration, raising a total of $208 billion, nearly four times the amount raised during Biden's era.
Trump expressed interest in buying 'sizable' amounts of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to create a national reserve. This move would help take pressure off the US dollar, he claimed.
