Trump's Cryptocurrency-Related Stock Trades Revealed in Disclosure Form
US President Donald Trump's disclosure form revealed several cryptocurrency-related stock trades in July. The document, released by the Office of Government Ethics (OGE) on September 22, contains 1,156 transactions, with nearly all of them taking place in July.
The largest transaction was a purchase of Coinbase Global stock between $1,001 and $15,000 (approximately ¥16 million to ¥237 million) on July 24. The same day, Trump also purchased Strategy stock, which is known for holding large amounts of Bitcoin, for between $1,001 and $15,000.
However, the largest amount was spent on a purchase of Strategy stock on July 27, with a range of $50,001 to $100,000 (approximately ¥792 million to ¥1.58 billion). On the same day, Trump sold between $1,001 and $15,000 worth of Strategy stock.
On July 29, Trump sold between $15,001 and $50,000 worth of CleanSpark and MARA Holdings stocks. The report also notes that these transactions are relatively small compared to other trades mentioned in the document, including sales of Microsoft and Amazon stock for between $5 million and $25 million (approximately ¥79 billion to ¥395 billion) on July 20.
The White House attributed the management of Trump's investment portfolio to a third-party company that uses an index-based model to make trades. However, it is unclear who made individual trading decisions.
