Trump's TRUMP Coin Gala: A Recipe for Price Volatility?
President Donald Trump is set to host another gala for top TRUMP coin holders at his Washington, D.C. resort. The event page confirms the dinner will take place on an undisclosed date, with invitations going to the top 185 registered holders and VIP access reserved for the top 29. Trump will attend as a featured speaker alongside three unnamed 'legends.'
The qualification criteria are based on time-weighted holdings, meaning both the amount held and how long it's been held count towards the ranking. The final snapshot lands on November 12, and the top four VIPs receive an 18-karat gold Trump watch. Unlike previous events, no private meetings with Trump are included this time.
According to Benzinga's past reports, the first TRUMP dinner in April 2025 sent the token price from roughly $9 to $14.40, a 60% jump, before it eased back to $13.40. However, the price had already slipped to $14.25 by the following day's dinner and fell more than 14% to $13 within 24 hours.
The second gala in 2026 showed an even sharper drop in enthusiasm: trading volume fell roughly 89%, from $12.9 billion to $1.4 billion, median VIP qualifying holdings dropped 84%, from $3.28 million to about $539,000, and the price fully reversed its announcement rally.
The TRUMP project disclosed plans on July 15 to deploy, sell, or otherwise monetize up to 9.6% of total token supply from already-unlocked inventory over the following months. This has raised a real supply question that could offset any buying tied to gala qualification.
Additionally, VIPs who drop below their snapshot holdings before November 22 will lose bonus rewards while still keeping their dinner seat, giving qualifying holders some incentive to hold through the snapshot.
