TrustLinq, a Swiss-regulated crypto-to-fiat payment platform, has deepened its collaboration with Ripple by enabling RLUSD-funded bank payments to over 190 countries. Holders of the Ripple USD (RLUSD) stablecoin can now pay suppliers, employees, and landlords worldwide directly from self-custodial wallets, with recipients receiving traditional bank transfers in their local currency.
The expansion leverages Ripple's payment settlement infrastructure to facilitate global fiat payouts. RLUSD, designed for enterprise-grade payments, allows users to execute payments directly from their self-custody wallets, converting the required amount and delivering bank transfers via SEPA, Faster Payments, ACH, local payment corridors, or SWIFT. Most transfers are completed within the same or next business day.
This development addresses a significant gap in stablecoin usage, as highlighted by a January 2026 analysis from McKinsey and Artemis Analytics. The report found that only about 1% of the approximately $35 trillion moving over stablecoin rails annually constitutes real-world payments, with business-to-business payments being the fastest-growing segment. TrustLinq's model aims to bridge this gap by enabling direct fiat settlements from self-custody.
Lili Metodieva, Co-Founder of TrustLinq, emphasized the importance of this capability, stating, "Stablecoin holders have never lacked ways to trade; they have lacked ways to pay." The platform operates under Swiss regulation, ensuring compliance with anti-money-laundering supervision through SO-FIT, a self-regulatory organization recognized by FINMA. This provides recipient banks with a regulated Swiss counterparty on every transfer.
