Chris, a U.K. resident, became an overnight millionaire after recovering millions of dollars in Bitcoin that he had lost access to 12 years earlier.

The loss occurred when Chris's trading platform, Intersango, collapsed in 2014. He had invested around $2031 worth of Bitcoin through the exchange in 2011, but his account was frozen and he received no response when trying to withdraw his funds.

Despite numerous attempts to contact the company over the years, Chris had given up on recovering his cryptocurrency. However, earlier this year, he decided to try again with the help of legal advice, providing proof of ownership for dozens of 'lost' BTC.

In a few short months, the coins were returned to him, now valued at around $4.47 million.
