U.S. Senate Delays CLARITY Act Vote Amid Regulatory Uncertainty

Share

The U.S. Senate has delayed the vote on the CLARITY Act until September due to unresolved issues.

Senators were unable to reach an agreement on a bipartisan ethics proposal, Bank Regulatory Clarity Act (BRCA) discussions, and stablecoin yield regulation before the August recess.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong argued that the remaining issue is not a compromise but whether the Senate is willing to bring the legislation to a vote, adding that millions of Americans who own crypto are waiting for a resolution.

The delay prolongs regulatory uncertainty for crypto, DeFi, and stablecoins, which could slow U.S. adoption, token launches, fundraising, and exchange operations.
