UAE and Sweden Take Down $7M Crypto Gang Linked to Contract Homicides

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Sweden have joined forces to dismantle a $7 million cryptocurrency gang linked to contract hits. The operation involved law enforcement agencies from both countries, who worked together to track down and apprehend the suspects.

The investigation, which lasted several months, revealed that the gang had been using cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin to launder money and fund their illicit activities. According to reports, the gang was responsible for at least two contract killings in Sweden.

The UAE's efforts to combat cryptocurrency-related crimes have been ongoing for some time. In 2020, the country established a dedicated unit to tackle cybercrime and financial fraud cases involving cryptocurrencies.
