UK FCA Gives Crypto Firms Deadline to Avoid Stricter Regulations
The UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has opened a window for existing cryptocurrency firms to apply for authorization ahead of the new regulatory regime set to take effect on October 25, 2027.
According to the FCA, firms that submit their applications by February 28, 2027, can continue taking on new business even if their applications are still pending when the new regime starts.
This means that these firms will not be subject to the stricter regulations and requirements that will apply from October 25, 2027, as long as they have applied for authorization by the deadline.
