UK Freezes £10M in Sorare-Linked Funds Amid Investigation

Share

The UK's National Crime Agency (NCA) has frozen £10 million in funds as part of an investigation into Sorare, a blockchain-based sports company. The agency made this move after a court order was issued in January 2025.

Sorare operates a fantasy sports platform that uses digital trading cards recorded on blockchain networks. Users collect and trade these cards to participate in fantasy competitions.

The NCA's investigation is looking into potential links between the frozen funds and alleged third-party criminal activity. The agency has stated that the order was intended to prevent dissipation of the funds while they investigate.

Sorare previously signed a four-year partnership with the Premier League in 2023 for $162 million. However, this deal was terminated at the end of last season.
