UMX Unveils Beta Platform Merging Crypto and US Stocks

UMX, an exchange incubated by Avenir Group, has launched its beta version for professional investors. This invitation-only platform combines crypto trading with real U.S. stocks, ETFs, and options.

The main feature of the UMX platform is the capital bridge between its crypto and securities sides. Users can convert stablecoins like USDT into U.S. dollars and move the funds into a securities account. They can also borrow against their crypto assets to fund stock purchases directly.

UMX says its securities service provides positions in actual U.S. shares, not CFDs or products that only track stock prices. The platform allows users to convert their stock holdings into tokens and count them toward their crypto account margin requirements.

The beta is designed for global professional investors, but access depends on location, account status, and product eligibility. Avenir Group has invested in trading infrastructure and holds a large regulated Bitcoin ETF position through BlackRock's iShares.
