Understanding Ethereum's Transaction Nonce
The Ethereum nonce is a sequential number associated with an account that helps identify the sequence of transactions sent from it. It's used to prevent replay attacks and manage transaction sequences.
For standard externally owned accounts, the nonce starts at 0 and increases as transactions are sent. For example, if you send your first transaction, the nonce will be 0, then 1 for the second transaction, 2 for the third, and so on.
The nonce is part of the transaction data that's signed by the sender, and it helps Ethereum determine the correct sequence of transactions. If a transaction has an incorrect or missing nonce, it can cause problems, such as stuck transactions or competition between multiple transactions with the same nonce.
