UNI Price Surges as SEC Opens Path for Permissioned AMM Trading
The price of UNI surged from $6.63 to $8.49 after the US SEC opened the door for certain tokenized stocks to trade through permissioned AMMs.
This development puts Uniswap v4 back in focus, which many believe could strongly impact the price.
The SEC's latest move introduced a temporary framework for certain tokenised U.S. stocks, allowing approved venues to trade certain tokenised U.S. stocks through permissioned AMMs & liquidity pools.
However, the SEC has not approved Uniswap or endorsed Uniswap v4 directly, but it has created a regulatory pathway for compliant tokenised stock trading using permissioned AMM infrastructure.
